Duration: 1/2-Day
Overview
Have you been experiencing challenges managing relationships on your projects? Are communications with different people in the organization inconsistent or ineffective? Stakeholders are individuals, groups or organizations that are affected by or have an impact on our work or projects, and it is essential to engage stakeholders proactively and thoughtfully to meet their expectations and satisfy their requirements.
In this practical workshop, you will learn to plan and manage stakeholder relationships to improve communication and understanding, and gain support for your projects. You’ll learn proven processes to identify, analyse and engage stakeholders consistently and effectively through several interactive exercises.
This workshop is conducted in a flipped class format.
What is a flipped class? At its root, a flipped class is a combination of classroom instruction and online learning. The difference is in the sequence. In a flipped class, you study the subject online first, at your own pace prior to class. Then we follow-up with a face-to-face workshop, where you practice applying your learning. You arrive having already gone through all the material, which allows us to focus the workshop more on practicality, with hands-on exercises and active discussions. With this approach, you own your learning experience. You have control. You get to control when you learn, how quickly you learn, what sequence you follow, and how deeply you go into the content.
In a flipped class, the instructor also has a different role. In a traditional course, the instructor presents information, shows some slides and answers questions. Then you go back to your job and you’re expected to apply everything you learned during the course. In a flipped class however, during the face-to-face workshop, the instructor will be more like a coach, guiding activities, and facilitating group discussions. Because they’re not using the class time to present content, it gives more time to apply the concepts for deeper learning.
To get the most out of this approach, there are a few things we need from you. It is important to go through all the online content prior to class, and collaborate online with your peers and the instructor. During the workshop, the focus will be on application of the concepts to provide a deeper understanding, so active participation is important.
